How to get a better Sims 4 Experience? Well … After the K-505 Terrain Mod, the K-606 Architek Mod related to roofs and foundations, the K-202 Groundy Mod related to lot terrains and the K-101 Builder Mod related to Maxis floors replacement, it was time to work on everything environmental, everything which is everyday around your favorite Sims 😀

Trees are vital to the ecosystem. Without them, there wouldn’t be secret passages to pocket worlds, there wouldn’t be nice parks to hang out and any backyard would be a deadly place under the hot sun. And it wouldn’t provide the best activity in fall: racking leaves …

Unless they are in plastic. But as you already know, the K-Mods are everything plastic free 😀

TECHNICAL IMPORTANT INFORMATION :

We didn’t yet finished all the trees. We still have to release some such as the cypress. And there is what we called : “the Pine Problem”

As you know, pine trees are everywhere in some Worlds : Willow Creek, Granite Falls, Brindleton Bay, Glimmerbrook … And all these pine trees are linked together in each world … meaning it creates graphic bugs to modify them 😕 In addition, most of them got a really ugly shape and uvmap hard to modify. Even if we only change the textures, it is still ugly as hell 😀

Happily, we could modify, transform and/or re-texturize some of them. But not ALL of them until we find the safe way to break the link in between 😉 and some new pine trees meshes … It won’t be easy for sure !

Many trees have been re-worked on Maxis game meshes and some have been completely modified, including mesh. We did, and keep doing, as much as we can to limit the impact and keep the game smooth. We decided to make it so to avoid problems such as a too heavy game. It’s a kind of compromise which required A LOT OF WORK indeed 😉

The K-707 Nature Mod will replace trees, flowers and hump of grass in all your worlds. It is an ongoing project, just like the K-505, there will be updates now and then. Also, this is a big project, there’s a surprise at every stone we turn.

WHEN WILL YOU RELEASE EP/GP/SP?

They are already all in! Don’t worry if you don’t have a full game, it will work all the same 🙂

WILL IT BREAK MY GAME? WILL IT SLOW IT DOWN?

It won’t break your game. But it will slow it down a bit 😕 We merged the packages to diminish the impact but let’s not sugarcoat it: trees are everywhere and bigger. It does have a small impact to replace them. Again, we did, and keep doing, as much as we can to limit the impact and keep the game smooth.

CAN I PICK AND CHOOSE?

No. The merging allow for a lighter footprint on the game.

THE CONFLICT DETECTOR SAYS …

The Conflict Detector tells you that EA is duplicating its own work and if we were the boss of EA you wouldn’t need a Conflict Detector … *angrily staring at EA’s sloppy work* … As we merged all in 2 different packages ( one for the trees and one for the plants & grass ) : no conflict in the K-707 Nature Mod, only very few duplicates.

OK, YOU MADE TREES … WHAT ABOUT PLANTS ?

As for the update of 2021, the K-707 Nature Mod is done at 95%, so, yeah, plants are done too 😉

These files override the game files and work fine in-game …
